About Me:

I helped pay for my college tuition by working at an Oregon winery in the 1990s. That is when it happened: I unwittingly fell in love with wine. It's the only job I've ever had where I did not mind taking my work home with me!
Since those formidable years, I've moved to Seattle, experienced a career crisis, and traveled solo to Bordeaux and the Priorat on a quest for wine and drama. Seduced by the Priorat's food, the wine, and people, I mourned my return to reality. Now, if I could only combine my passions of writing, editing and wine into a lucrative career so I can continue on my wine adventures.
My blog features posts about my France and Spain trip, along with some wine reviews: http://winentrip.wordpress.com.
Thanks for taking the time to read my profile. Sante and salud!

I discovered a new affordable fav from Bordeaux (Saint Emilion), thanks to the brilliant importer of Chateu St. Martin: 2005 Emilio Merlot. This wine deserves some more time in the bottle, but it's tasting fine now. From South Africa, I've been hankering to try a Sadie Family wine. Due to some budget constraints, I "settled" for the Sequillo 2003. This stellar syrah (63%), mourvedre (30%) and grenache (7%) is clearly influenced by wine maker, Eben Sadie's, low handling methodology. Unfortunately, it seems as though my local wine store is out of stock of this gem. If you find a bottle, and appreciate carefully crafted wines that respect terroir, please buy and try immediately!
