Just acquired a case of the 2004 BV maestro zin for my cellar.    First impression upon opening a bottle last night was that this was going to be way too concentrated in fruit and alcohol for my taste...  The cork was a very dark deep red with concentrated hints of plum and black berry present as I poured my first glass .... first taste, wow.    More jammy than I normally prefer in a zin, but not overly so, slight tanins can be picked up on the finish .... extremely well balanced, almost silky, so much so, you don't pick up the 15.5% alcohol content ... this drinks very well now, and I would not be surprised with the great balance if it did not age well for another 7-8 years.    I am not sure if this is 100% zin, or if there are some other varietals blended in  ... it's almost, should I dare to compare it to Ridge Lytton Springs?   In any event, I have 11 bottles left and will not hesitate to pull out for consumtion ...
